திருப்புகழ் பாட வாழ்வில் நிறைவேயாம்
Thiruppugazh pAda niRaivEyAm		 

    நெஞ்சத்தில் இறையை நிறுத்தி
        வஞ்சத்தை அறவே அறுத்து
            கொஞ்சமும் மறவாது திருப்புகழ் பாடி

    தஞ்சம் என்று சரணடைவோம்
        அஞ்சாதே என்றவனும் நம்
            நெஞ்சத்தில் வந்தமர்வான்

    பஞ்சம்பிணி என்றுமில்லை வாழ்வில்
        கொஞ்சமும் குறைவில்லை நமக்கு
            நெஞ்சமெல்லாம் நிறைவேயாம்.

English transliteration

    nenjaththil iRaiyai niRuththi
        vanjaththai aRavE aRuththu
            konjamum maRavAdhu thiruppugazh pAdi

    thanjam endru saraNadaivOm
        anjAdhE endravanum nam
            nenjaththil vandhamarvAn

    panjampiNi endrumillai vAzhvil
        konjamum kuRaivillai namakku
            nenjamellAm niRaivEyAm.
