Thiruppukali: It is the place of refuge for the celestials who were terrified by the demon SUran. 3. Venguru: It is the shrine where Brahaspathi (Jupiter) worshipped. 4. PUntharAy: It is the shrine where Earth and ThArai worshipped. 5. Sirapuram: When the nectar was distributed by Lord VishNu to the celestials, Rahu and KEthu stealthily came as DEvAs and were beheaded by VishNu; at this shrine, they worshipped and got their heads back. 6. PuRavam: At this shrine a sage PrajApathi came in the disguise of a pigeon and offered his flesh as a sacrifice to save the king. 7. SaNpai: Sage DurvAsA, known as Sanpaimuni, worshipped at this shrine. 8. SeekAzhi: A serpent named KALi worshipped at this shrine. 9.
