   At Clemencia Temple,
   when we went on the month of siththirai,
   we came wearing the 'kAvi' attire.
   We came carrying the milk pots.

   VElA! VElA! The victorious VElA! ... the Handsome
   VElA! VElA! The victorious VElA!

   At the foot of the hill,
   as the gathering of devotees grew larger,
   we came carrying the 'kAvadi'.
   We came singing Praises of Kandhan (Murugan).

   As we ascended the hill,
   as the sounds of the bells were heard,
   we came to see the Almighty.
   We came seeking the Holy Blessings.

   At the peak of the hill,
   at the sight of BAlagan (Murugan),
   we were overwhelmed with the rays of Devotion.
   We witnessed the dawn of a new reformation.
