avanithani lEpi Randhu: Having taken birth in this world,
madhalai enavE thavazhndhu: crawling as a kid,
azhagu peRavE na dandhu: having walked about in a beautiful way,
iLainyOnAy: I became a youth;
arumazhalaiyE migundhu: babbling all childish pranks,
kudhalai mozhiyE pugandru: uttering sweet-nothings,
athividham adhAy vaLarndhu: I grew up in so many ways
padhinARAy: and reached the age of 16.
sivakalaigaL AgamangaL: SivA's scriptures - SivA AgamAs (rules of worship)
migavumaRai Odhum anbar: and a lot of Vedic scriptures - Your devotees chant these;
thiruvadigaLE ninaindhu thudhiyAmal: I never praised their holy feet nor prostrated before them.
therivaiyarkaL Asai minji: I was overwhelmed by lust for women;
